Cyclist and Rad Dad Phil Velo is a fixture in the Twin Cities Bike Scene. He's the admin of popular Facebook Groups Twin Cities Bicycle Trading Post and Twin Cities Stolen Bikes. Yes, it is possible for Banjo Brothers Bags to look and smell like new with a little basic care using materials you already have at home. It doesn't matter if you're a bikepacker, a bicycle commuter, a gravelgrinder or do long distance bike touring, sooner or later you're going to want to clean your bags.

By some standards, Dann's newbie to the "bike shop life" getting his first bike shop gig in 2010. A missionary's kid, he grew up around Tokyo and speaks Japanese. A man of adventure, he took a break from the bikes for a few years to attend Bible and for an internship at a church in England. He's living the good life these days wrenching bikes, wearing lots of wool and trying not o.d. on Grant Peterson. We think you'll enjoy this week's FIVE THINGS.

FIVE THINGS is a weekly feature on the Banjo Brothers Blog. It’s a short interview about life and bicycles with a notable person. This week’s FIVE THINGS is with bicycle industry outlaw Danimal. We met DM in 2012 when he still lived in "Nash-Vegas." Dan is many things. He's a fine writer, entrepreneur, Tour Divide finisher, bicycle commuter, capable bicycle mechanic, race promoter, bikepacker, mentor, role model, reading advocate, beach-lover, and a rye-whiskey drinking sonofagun.
